Our Approach

This work isn't about self-regulation or a list of coping strategies. You can't talk your way out of a nervous system that is simply doing what it learned to do to keep you alive and safe. So this isn't about managing, controlling, or calming yourself down every time things get hard — it's about building a nervous system that can meet more of life's experiences, pleasant and unpleasant.

A self-regulation point of view asks, "How do I calm myself down?" A capacity point of view asks something different: "How can I build a nervous system that doesn't need to be calmed down every time life gets hard?"

To do this, sessions draw on evidence-based approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Predictive Processing Flash Therapy, Internal Family Systems, alongside Somatic Techniques and Polyvagal-Informed approaches.

This isn't just talking about what's holding you back. It's giving your nervous system the opportunity to have new, disconfirming experiences — and consistently building on those experiences until they become part of who you are and how you move through life.
